How it works

From request to guidance — simple, fast and personal.

Step 1 — Request

You fill in the request form. You tell us about the situation: which hospital your loved one is in, which ward, how many hours per week you would like a guide and on which days and times.

Step 2 — Matching

We find a suitable medical student who is available at the desired times and has knowledge of the relevant medical specialism. You will hear from us within 48 hours.

Step 3 — First contact

Your guide will contact you for a brief introduction. You discuss the situation, your questions and the arrangements. After that, your guide is ready for you.

Step 4 — Guidance

Your guide can be present at appointments with the treating doctor (if desired), answers your questions afterwards and helps you process information and ask the right questions.

Who are our guides?

Our guides are medical students in their clinical rotations or later years of study. They have solid medical knowledge but are also trained in communicating clearly with non-medical audiences. They are not a treating clinician — they are your guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can a guide be present during a consultation with the doctor?
That is something you discuss with the treating doctor and the hospital. In most cases this is possible if you explain that it is a family member or support person. Your guide can help you arrange this.
Does the guide give medical advice?
No. A guide explains, clarifies and helps you formulate questions. They do not give diagnoses or treatment advice — that is exclusively the responsibility of the treating doctor.
What does a guide cost?
We work with a fair hourly rate. Costs are communicated at the time of the match and depend on the number of hours and availability. Please contact us for more information.
How quickly can a guide be available?
We aim to present a match within 48 hours of your request. In urgent situations you can also call us directly.
